Robert H. Jackson Center

As an intern at the Robert H. Jackson Center, I spent summer 2017 researching late-Supreme Court Justice of the United States, Robert H. Jackson, and his opinions on the First Amendment. Under the supervision of Jamestown Community College professor, Dr. Greg Rabb, the research paper Suicide Pact or Unrestricted Constitutional Right?: Robert H. Jackson and the struggles in balancing the liberties of the First Amendment was finished in August 2017 and can by clicking here.

In addition, another intern and myself designed and created an exhibit dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Japanese-American internment during World War II through the lens of Robert Jackson’s dissenting opinion of Korematsu v. United States (1944), which allowed the internment.

I wrote all legal literature pertaining to the case, demonstrating an ability to write coherently about Supreme Court matters.

Additionally, I utilized archived footage of interview with Fred Korematsu, himself, and an interview with Kristi Yamaguchi about her family’s experience with internment camps.
