Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES
The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES (E2CCB) is one of 37 Board of Cooperative Extension Services (BOCES) in New York State. E2CCB represents all the school districts in Chautauqua County, southern Erie County, and part of Cattaraugus County, a geographical area of 1,791 square miles. During the 2021-22 school year, E2CCB provided more than $100 million in services to its 27 component school districts.
Of those services, the Communications and Development Service provides a public relations specialist to act under the direction of the local school superintendent to assist the school district in building a systematic, planned process of two-way communication between the district and its internal and external stakeholders. Depending upon the needs of the district, services include writing, preparation of publications and informational materials, assistance with special projects and technical advisement.
Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District
The Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District was founded as Springville Academy in 1825 and was the first high school in Erie County. Currently, the district serves approximately 1,600 students and has one of the largest areas of any New York district at nearly 141 square miles.
At SGI, I serve as social media manager, lead storyteller, editor of the district newsletter, and contributor to the website.
Pine Valley Central School
The Pine Valley Central School District is a rural district which covers an area of approximately 120 square miles in the northeast section of Chautauqua County and the northwest section of Cattaraugus County.
At Pine Valley, I serve as social media manager and as webmaster for the district’s website.
